Labs
The CNS student computer labs are primarily funded by the University of Northern Iowa student computing fees.
Labs are considered to be for general use by CNS students and are customized to better support the needs of specific departments where they are located. Some labs are departmental labs only and are not always available for general student use. Please click on links to the left for more information regarding public labs and software installed.
Authentication - Logging into Computers
Windows and Mac Computers
Windows and Mac computer labs use the AD-ITS account for authentication. This is the same account used for wireless or general computers labs in the Library or Maucker Union. Student, if you need your AD-ITS password reset, please contact the ITS CCC (Computer Consulting Center) at 3-5555, its-consult@uni.edu, or visit their office in ITT 36. Faculty and staff, if you need your AD-ITS password reset, you can contact CNS Support or ITS CCC.
Linux Computers
The Linux computers authenticate off of CNS' "internal" authentication system. This username and password are not used for anything else. If you need your CNS password reset bring your student ID card to CNS Support's office. Your password will not be changed over phone or email as your identity can not be verified.
